Linux is the most widely used server in the World,as it is open source so it is cheaper than Windows(Proprietary) and Java(Proprietary)Platform . Proprietary softwares are always costly solution but if you need it than you go for it or Linux have all types of solutions for you.

Now we will talk about the web services: The web services are provided by the web server owner or by the Data-center owner,mostly located In USA,Canada,Europe & others. Now we have some Indian Server also(it is costly incomparison).

• What are the Server Type(Hardware)?....

There are many types of Server provider in the market ,with many specifications and Budget. Server Hardware types can be INTEL Xeon, Dual core or Quad Core or AMD Opteron(Dual/Six/Quad core) with ECC RAM and high Network Bandwidth of several combination.

• What are the Server Service type?...

Server provide the services like,Web,Application,Mail,Data,Exchange,Internet,Getaway & etc.

• What is the Web Technology?....

In this context I should mention about the Language Separately,As PHP is the most commonly used open source Scripting language followed by ASP,ASPX of Microsoft and JSP,Servlet form Sun.

By the way the Web Browser can render the page and display it is HTML or XHTML,but many other functions are going under the hood,like (Server side Scripting ,Ajax,XML,Database connections, Java Script & etc). We only get the result but the Language scripting technology is taking care of it,now how dose it perform is dependent up on the Development and the technology used to develop the application.
